When I ruled the world...
Nov. 30th, 2008 05:16 pmI hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing,
and Roman calvary choirs are singing.
Be my mirror, my sword, and shield;
my missionaries in a foreign field.
For some reason I can't explain
I know Saint Peter won't call my name.
...never an honest word;
but that was when I ruled the world.

Date: 2008-12-01 01:35 am (UTC)Thanks for the comment earlier. I recall reading that about monks being encouraged to think upon a woman's dead flesh to help deal with thoughts of the physical pleasures, and women were encouraged to think on their own dead bodies as well... very interesting, and depressing, stuff...
