Back to the Grind.

sechan19I've left the East Coast behind for the next twelvemonth or so and am now holed up in a coffee shop in sunny California - where the weather is beautiful and the peeps is crazy.
Last night, after hearing a sharp bang that sounded like a potential car crash, I stepped onto my porch to survey and was greeted by an obviously drunk and seriously grizzled man. He pointed a fizzing cigarette butt at me and intoned, "You ain't never been where I been. Might be you gonna go there someday. I wish you luck." He then walked on down the street, knocking down trash cans along the way.
Welcome (welcome) back (back) to Cali (Cali Cali).
Heh.
I've turned my attention to the final stages of my move to Yokohama. I'm in the process of securing an apartment and trying to plot out my two-week research/lay-the-groundwork-for-the-move trip. All the while I'm seeing folks, and brushing up on Japanese (what else is new), and attempting to order my thoughts so I can do a little research on the side.
I need to make a list.
Again.
Oh! And given how jealous I am of people in NY for having a kick-ass Asian Film Festival (with bunches of Japanese movies that I want to see), I've decided to hold my own Japanese Film Festival over the next two months. If you're in the Cali area and interested, pm me or something. ;> The first film screens next Friday. Woot!
