The Japanese often read on the commuter trains - something that I find very heartening - and many of them read manga. The other day I watched a youngish guy read manga on his cellphone (via a kind of powerpoint-style presentation) and that was pretty impressive, but I was in for a real shocker during this evening's ride when I observed a sixty-ish Japanese salaryman reading an uber-violent, uber-sexfilled manga. So not my idea of the restrained working man.
