Vacation is nearing its end, sadly. Only a weekend remains before the grind begins again in earnest.
Tomorrow I'm off to Tochigi for a two-day-one-night stay. I expect to work on class assignments on the train, thus leaving me free to enjoy my time with friends. I've gotten a fair bit of the work done already (unlike some of my compatriots), but it seems like there's still so much to do. I really hope they don't pile us down at Christmas, too. Some people might riot, I think.
Today, I might my adviser, K., at the Tokyo National Museum. We wandered around the exhibits, speculating, and spent hours in the bookshop. It was great to see her. We're planning to head back to the TNM next week as well, to catch a freshly opened exhibit.
Thursday is the 20th anniversary of the Emperor's reign, however, which means everything will be free and open to the public. Which means we might need to bust out the shotguns in order to protect ourselves from the little old ladies. (Seriously, what is it with little old Japanese ladies in museums? They are ferocious.) I suspect we'll be playing that one by ear.
See you all when I get back.
