Mood Swing.

It's interesting to me that class hasn't even been in for two weeks yet, and my mood has already begun to plummet from the recent vacation-induced heights.

I've come to realize that the daily language grind is just kind of depressing, and that's all there is to it. I'll have to find a way of dealing with it. (I'm hoping that once we get past this unit on conjunctive expressions, which I'm not feeling satisfied with either in terms of the material presentation or of my personal ability to retain the information, that I'll recapture my love of learning Japanese.)

It doesn't help that winter is setting in, either. All I want to do is sleep.

Onward.

Ah, the eternal cycle. Hang in there. If it helps any, this here city is quite gray today, which doesn't help one's mood. So it's occurring on both sides of the ocean.

I'm sorry to say it gets worse before it gets better - mid-December or so is the toughest, grindiest, grind in the program. But if I wasn't trying to be encouraging, I wouldn't comment at all. Hang in there, and know that things get much easier and lighter come the New Year.

I suspected as much, honestly. I was getting a vibe that this second term was probably going to be the roughest going. But it's only 5-6 weeks at this point, so I'm sure I can hang in there for that. ;>

I appreciate you saying that. Sometimes I worry I'm being too overbearing or something, as if you need my help to tell you where to find good restaurants or how the program goes or anything. You're there, in the thick of it. You're probably more familiar with the city and the Crnter than I am at this point, as I hang onto wisps of nostalgic memories.

Anyway, I always enjoy hearing about your adventures. Hang in there!
