The New York Times had an article this morning on the proliferation of museum exhibitions dedicated to so-called feminist art this year. The trend has apparently kicked off with a two-day symposium on feminist art at New York's MoMA, and will be continued by an exhibition at MoCA in LA and the permanent installation of Judy Chicago's The Dinner Party at the Brooklyn Museum.
Other topics of discussion in the article are the ongoing divides between queer and straight feminists and between white feminists and feminists of color. It's an intriguing report on the state of feminism in art that I highly recommend.
