This rain on my car is a baptism...
Oct. 21st, 2007 09:35 pmOf course, there's no rain; and of course, I have no car. However, I watched the timeless classic Say Anything last night, and I really felt that quote. ("My assault on the world begins now!")
Moving on.
Had a very relaxing weekend, and after passing the midterm point I think it was really necessary. I got a small amount of school-related work done (what needed to be done). The rest of the time was split between household chores, more unpacking and organizing, and pure, unadulterated relaxation. I listened to a lot of music, danced around, read some old standards for fun, etc.
I also had a fantastic time out at the Friday-night Taiko performance. It was the first time I'd seen any kind of Taiko live, and this group - founded by third-generation Japanese Americans - put on a theatrical and energetic show. There were a number of children in the audience who were clearly into it. (And so was I; my friend teased me for "hooting" after one particularly stirring piece.) It always delights me when parents bring their children to things like this. My parents always took me to plays and symphonies when I was young, and I'm certain that a large portion of my personal development is owing to that.
Seeing the fair citizens of New City on the same page just made me love my new home that much more.
