I've now been awake for thirty-six hours, and I still cannot sleep. If this persists, I think I'll make an appointment to see a doctor.

This is ridiculous.

exercise?

Yoga could help, stretching always helps...breathing too.

When your laying in bed allow yourself to think about one thing(your breath, lovely sunset, waves, forest, you get the picture) breath in slowly through your nose into your belly while counting to 5. Hold for 5 seconds then slowly exhale through your mouth. Repeat 10 times. If anything you'll probably hyperventilate and pass out.

Things to avoid: chocolate, alcohol, caffeinated teas, soda, but I'm sure you knew this.

Herbal solutions: valerian root, and kava kava (pretty strong). Do not take kava kava with other sedatives like alcohol, or perscriptives like xanex, the combonation of the two has been know to cause comas.

Good god, I'm such a Mom.

Thanks! I'll try the yoga breathing when I have trouble. And I forgot about Valerian root. I have a jar of that, and would much rather resort to it than anything else.

Sorry babe, it's the genes. Don't worry until you go past 60 straight hours.
