Dance All Night--Part II.
May. 19th, 2008 11:59 pmIf you had asked me, I would have said that nothing could top last year's Birthday in Shibuya Dance Party Extravaganza.
I was wrong.
Seeing 雅-miyavi play in a tiny SF club, dancing my booty off with two of my best girlfriends, having a series of drink rounds warm the cockles of my heart, watching my dad get totally in to an uber-tattoed, freaky-looking Japanese guitar whiz, jumping, grooving, laughing, singing, screaming, and delighting in the atmosphere, the aural stimuli, and the funk...
Let's just say that next year is going to have a lot to live up to (just in terms of calorie burning, mind you, to say nothing of the fun factor). This was one of the best shows I've seen in the last few years--high energy and unbelievably fresh.
2008-2009, bitches. Bring it on.
More on the rest of this extended weekend to come later.
