Political Newsflash.
May. 27th, 2008 02:36 pmHe's sexist; she's racist. (Or is it he's racist and she's sexist?)
Anyway, can we move on now?
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have varying shades of racism and misanthropy because they are human, and they have extra doses of it (I believe) because they are American. We as Americans have a history of denial surrounding who and what we really are, and that denial is attempting to weasel its way through this election campaign season.
I hope it doesn't succeed, but I can tell you I ain't holding my breath here.
Yes (for everyone out there who keeps flinging a collective Oh my GOD!) we are racist, sexist, classist, elitist, intolerant, and cruel.
And we are bred that way.
Deal with it.
This type of stuff should be a no-brainer for any person who's honest with themself about the baggage they're carrying from coming-of-age in a paranoid and drama-ridden society.
It's not, though, which says plenty about our collective honesty.
[sigh]
Whatever.
