I sat for a scholarship interview, which was nerve-wracking but illuminating.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yes, I did. Yes, I will. (This year I resolve to unlock my creative potential.)
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes.
5. What countries did you visit?
Canada and Japan.
6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
A year without loss.
7. What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
November 23. Because one of my best friends was deeply hurt that day, and there was nothing I could do to make it better.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I kept going.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I bitched about it a lot of the way.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Tickets to see Neil Gaiman and Kevin Smith. (Not together, of course. Although I'd pay good money to see that, actually.)
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Liberal activists.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Rape apologists, racists, gun enthusiasts.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Where else? (Hint: my mortgage.)
15. What did you get really excited about?
The possibility of going back to Japan for an extended period; thinking outside of the box.

Making new traditions: Die Hard on Christmas Eve and the Doctor Who Stole Christmas Marathon on Christmas Day.

I try not to waste my time hating anyone; I am fairly disappointed with people from time to time, though.
