Come on Back to Cali.
Aug. 15th, 2008 06:41 pmI boarded the plane in Tokyo, Narita around 4pm on Thursday, and deplaned the aircraft in San Francisco at about 10am the same day. Gotta love that international date line. ;]
Dad, the fabulous
lillith_knox, and a dear family friend, T., were there to welcome me. We spent the rest of the day wandering SF. We did lunch at the Asian Art Museum, walked Market Street, had degustifs at the Pied Piper Bar in the Palace Hotel, and wound the day up with a tour of the exquisite exhibition of Women Impressionists at the Palace of the Legion of Honor.
We braved rush hour traffic to get home and have dinner at Willie's H&C [best hamburger ever], and I continued my herculean struggle with jet lag. I powered myself on till about 10:30pm, when the fact that it had been Thursday for about thirty hours finally caught up with me. I hit the hay, and slept the sleep of the just.
The final days in Tokyo were incredible, but I don't know that I'll ever get around to posting about them. I will try to do a final collection of photos, however. A picture's worth a thousand words, ne?

Oh, and do you mean digestifs? (Post-meal drinks.) Your creative spelling "degustifs" makes me think they were "disgusting."
