A Series of Malfunctions.
Aug. 30th, 2008 07:20 pmA malfunction with the course website forced me from my comfy home, yesterday and today, to the department library in order to read copies of the articles for next week's Silk Road discussion. Not the end of the world, but a bit of a pain for all that. With any luck the malfunction with the site will be rectified soon. I'd much prefer to have my own copies of the reading for the rest of the term and to read them when and where I choose.
A larger malfunction emerged in the form of my new Skechers shoes. Although they give the distinct impression of being designed for walking, this is a patent lie. As a result, I am now sporting enormous and painful gashes on both of my heels and have been hobbled for the foreseeable future. (This in spite of the fact that I took them off and walked around barefoot in an attempt to arrest the damage.) I'm now tending my feet with Neosporin, bandages, and open-toed/open-heeled sandals, but there's only so much one can do. And there's there no swing dancing tonight with my friend A. for me either. [pout]
For anyone contemplating a new shoe purchase: the Bikers - Sightsee shoe is a foul and vindictive piece of footwear that should be avoided at all costs.
That is all.
