Is it April Yet?
Jan. 12th, 2009 01:47 pmSeriously, all that white stuff on the ground has got to go.
In other news...
...a long time ago, just before Christmas in 1996 to be precise, I got a puppy. She was the cutest little lab-mix you ever saw, with the teeniest puff of white on her chest and a sterling personality. A truly uncommonly pretty dog; smart and gentle, too.
She was my dog up until I moved out on my own, about five/six years ago. Then she became my mom's dog (and I somehow became "her" girl.)
So, she's twelve now--which is quite an advanced age for a dog her size--and she's fading. I noticed a large tumor on her chest/shoulder this weekend that was not there three weeks ago. The vet isn't overly optimistic. Mom's keeping her chin up about it, but we're both pretty sure things are coming to the end now. Listo had no energy whatsoever this weekend, and her appetite's been poor for some time now.
[sigh]
Never tell me that December and January aren't unlucky. Pretty much everything in my life that's been bad has happened in December or January. If I could cut those two months out of the calendar--just wrap the year up with Thanksgiving and come back in February--I probably would. (Although, I have a couple of really good friends who have birthdays in those months, and that's not fair to them, so... nuts.)
Anyway.
