Early Birthday.

As if to make up for putting me through the psychological wringer during the last three weeks when I could have had peace of mind about my IUC application but did not, I just learned today that I'm being awarded a small grant to go to Japan for two weeks of research this summer.

So. Totally. Stoked.


I've decided to forgive the universe (it's even getting a free pass on the recent snow bullshit for this). Kyoto, here I come!

Is this the KCJS program? Or another program? Or just going and researching independently?

It's actually an in-department grant; something they give out to recent MAs in order to help develop their dissertation projects. I have a fairly good sense of what my topic is going to be, so it's a good time for me to go touring around Japan and figure out where the hotspots are for my research.
