Rainy days always come on the weekend, it seems.
A response to five-day's worth of car exhaust emissions?
There's a lot on the plate for this weekend, including apartment beautification and homework! I went out and bought a pack of thumbtacks with which to put up photos, posters, and assorted decorations on the walls. Once I get the room looking more like me, I think I'll really be at home. I already love the compactness and efficiency of the space, after all. It just needs a little Teva Jones in the mix to be perfect.
I've got posters from Japanese art shows, a paper crocodile from last year's summer speech contest at KCP, and photos galore of friends and loved ones. The only trick is how to arrange everything in an artful way. ;>
And, of course, I've got kanji and grammar preparation for Monday. I came out about where I expected in the evaluations - with high marks for speaking abilities and grammar mastery and low marks for reading comprehension/kanji and listening. The low listening score surprised everyone, apparently, because I'm ahead of the curve in conversation and they couldn't understand the discrepancy. I explain to Ari-sensei that I never test well in listening exams. Never. I don't know why, but I just can't follow those blasted tape recorded conversations. It's weird.
It might be a mental block. I'm opposed to the notion of the listening test, because it's not an accurate reflection of how conversation happens (particularly between parties where someone is a non-native speaker) and therefore isn't really fair. I resent the listening test, and I deliberately give less than my all to it. Something like that, maybe.
Hrm.
Anyway. ;>
