Making up for the weekend.

sechan19Yeah, so, this weekend was kind of a wash. Between partying in Shibuya all night Friday (which, as you may imagine, somewhat impacted my productivity on Saturday) and spending all day Sunday on a walking museum tour of Yokohama, I didn't get much done over the weekend. I organized some flashcards and got a start on my homework. And that's it.
But, fortunately, this year there happens to be a "Silver Week" in September. Essentially, because holidays fall on Monday (Health and Sports Day) and Wednesday (Senior Citizens Day), Tuesday automatically becomes a national holiday by law. Subsequently, we get five days off. With the weekend eaten up in social pursuits, yesterday and today have become crucial work days by default. There's also Wednesday, but I'm meeting Eunja and then going to see a movie. I don't anticipate using Wednesday for anything more than last minute loose ends.
I've already made a good start. On Monday, I completed my review of the first six chapters and the accompanying drills that were assigned for them. I also began the necessary prep work for the afternoon classes that begin this week. I've still got kanji and essay/speech writing to come. I'm hoping that I can enjoy a guilt-free Wednesday.
I've been trying to get over to the movie theater to catch Matsumoto Hitoshi's (of Hey! Hey! Hey! and Downtown fame) sophomore directorial effort, Symbol. From everything I've seen and heard, it promises to be a surreal, comedic triumph. (And Wednesday is "Ladies Day," which means I'll get a discount. ;> Yay for selective [hypocritical] feminism!) If I manage to get over to see it, I'll try and post a review.
PS: on an unrelated note, I really need to stop buying pastries. I'm never as in the mood for them as I think I am.
