Things That Make Up a Tuesday.
Oct. 2nd, 2007 09:30 pm(It is Tuesday, right?...)
* Getting my driver's license and voter registration squared away and thus becoming a full-fledged resident of New City, New State, USA.
* Reading the first of three sections in Martin Heidegger's "The Origin of the Work of Art" and finding myself up to my eyeballs in the thingness of things, the equipmental quality of equipment, and the workly character of a work.
* Riding up-and-down-town on the bus.
* Identifying the pesky sections of Miyazawa Kenji's Akida Kaidou (The Akida Highway) that are giving me grief with my translation project.
* Chatting with a BFF from back home.
* Sneaking bites of string cheese in a back room of the fine arts library, which has a strict no food policy.
* Typing out notes and attempting to flesh out a general idea for my Methodology term paper, because there's no time like the present.
* Re-reading an article for Chinese Art and writing a response paper for it.
* Making dinner (sausages with garlic peas and rice) and eating it in pleasant solitude over a well-worn and well-loved book.
* Listening to a new mix of music by an old friend.
* Having a package from UPS redirected to the department office since I can't get them to drop it off at my place without a signature for some godforsaken reason.
* Keeping loved ones in my thoughts and prayers.
