I'm taking part of the evening off tonight to chill with friends, even though the timing is not as good as it could be. On top of turning in draft two of my MA thesis tomorrow (which, thankfully, I managed to knock out of the park this weekend), I also have to meet with my lieutenant about Grad Expo, plan my comments about Grad Expo to the GSO reps, deliver said comments to the GSO reps, and present for ten minutes on my upcoming seminar paper.

I have to admit to feeling slightly testy about the seminar paper presentation. We've already turned in a paper topic, a paper thesis & bibliography, and a revised paper thesis & bibliography with paper outline. In two weeks we turn in the actual paper and start giving full presentations on the research. Why in the name of all that's holy do we have to give a ten minute presentation in addition to all the rest? What purpose could it possibly serve? I mean, aside from heaping more work on me at this critical juncture.

Once I get all that stuff settled, I still have my burgeoning Grad Expo responsibilities to handle, the seminar paper to draft (after I complete some final crucial research forays), and grant applications to complete.

The first thing I do when I get to New York for my winter break? Cocktail!
