Obligatory End-of-the-Year Meme.
Dec. 31st, 2009 06:07 am1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Moved to a foreign country by myself.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Last year my resolution was 「一杯一杯」, which means "give it your all." I think I kept it fairly well, although there's always room for improvement. Perhaps I'll make it my resolution this year as well.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes.
5. What countries did you visit?
Japan.
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
Once again, a death-free year. Although it was only the beloved family pet that passed away this time out - so I'll take that as an improvement over the two years that preceded.
7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Nothing traumatic enough happened this year for me to remember a specific date. In general, the day I found out I'd been accepted to IUC sticks out as being particularly memorable.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Publishing another article.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I continued to have very little self-control in the face of things that I didn't want to do but really had to do. I need to get my laziness under wraps at some point here in the near future.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I'm not really sure.

Nomi's. She went through the wringer this year, and somehow she didn't fold. I'm still not sure how that happened, but I am impressed as all get out.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Congress. And the jackasses in Hollywood who signed the "Free Roman Polanski" petitions.
14. Where did most of your money go?
My mortgage.
