One band/singer whose popularity you will never understand
Nirvana.
Okay, I know I'm about to get shot for this one, but I seriously never got why Nirvana was so important. They were good, no question. But not that good. And I maintain that had Kurt Cobain not died so tragically young, Nirvana would have passed into a relatively mundane position in music history - much as Pearl Jam and other bands of that era/genre have done. Let hunting season commence.

Date: 2010-09-24 07:01 pm (UTC)They certainly weren't as influential, or as perpetually popular, as the Beatles. Beatles songs will continue to be awesome for untold generations, but Nirvana will always be late 80s to early 90s rock.
