RIP Jeff Conaway.

Actor Jeff Conaway, best known for his roles in Grease and in the TV shows Taxi and Babylon 5 died last week from an apparent overdose. He was only sixty years old. I always liked Conaway. He was an underrated character actor who brought a little extra something to all of his many varied roles. His death was a great shame.

Well, that cause was the early speculation. According to other reports, he became ill with pneumonia and senses after hospitalization for a fall.

Sorry, mea culpa, I read the reports wrong. He had pneumonia to begin with, and didn't make it to the hospital promptly.

Everything I've read says supposed overdose on painkillers. He may have been taking prescription medication for pneumonia, but it seems like it may have killed him. And his history of substance abuse can't have helped in any case.

One thing that struck me was the parallel between Conaway's life and Dr. Franklin's character arc. Although it's a trope, seeing Zack shortly after the Franklin resignation episode was a bit on the disturbing side.
