Jet Lag is Good for You.
Apr. 6th, 2007 05:11 pmLast night at about 8pm JPN and roughly 4am PST, the program coordinator for the language program I’m taking called the hotel to make sure I’d arrived safely and knew how to meet up with the group the next afternoon.
I wasn’t expecting a phone call from anyone, and when the phone rang I looked at it quite stupidly for a few moments before picking it up. The conversation was as follows:
Me: Hai?
Akiko: Hai - moshi moshi!
Me: Moshi moshi?
Akiko: Konbanwa!
Me: Konbanwa?
Akiko: Sara-san? Akiko desu.
Me (light bulb finally going on) : Ah! KCP no Akiko-san desuka?
Akiko (with something of a laugh in her voice): You’re very tired, aren’t you?
Me: Hai.
At any rate, it’s all settled. Tonight I’ll be at home with my new family and - since I woke up at midnight, 2am, and 6am JPN - very ready to go to bed and get things into gear.
