First Snowfall.
Dec. 3rd, 2007 11:37 pmThe snow came down fiercely this afternoon, blanketing the ground in its first true snowfrost. I can't say that I was totally happy about it, but I bought myself a mug of hot chocolate and got on with business. I must admit that the flakes do have a kind of a ethereal beauty to them. I spent a quiet couple of minutes standing in the freezing air, watching the ice come down and reconciling myself to the knowledge that it had to happen sooner or later.
The term is nearly finished. I have some finishing touches to put on a paper and a presentation to give this Wednesday that shouldn't be too traumatic, I hope. I'll have a bit of peace after that to deal with household matters. Then, in a little over a week and a half, I'll be boarding a flight to Japan - where I'll spend the winter holidays.
And so it goes.
