Tori Amos.
My mother constantly complains that I always like the weird ones, and it's pretty much true. As far as words are concerned, I very rarely understand what the hell Tori is on about. But in terms of sonics: of pitch, of descant, of raw emotion in the sound of her voice - I understand completely. And I also feel as if no one has ever, or will ever, quite understand like she does.
