For the first time that I can remember, the old year passed unlauded and the new one arrived uncelebrated. Though I have never see a year pass away with such relief before now, the traditional counting down of the clock has no appeal for me at present. In so many ways, time - always an ally in the past - has become an antagonist, moving with a kind of brutal neutrality toward a future I may not want to face.

Nevertheless, I remain hopeful that 2008 will be better; that things can still improve; that time may yet prove itself the ally of days gone. And I wish for you all, my dear friends and family, the very best of what the new year has to offer - blessings, lessons, beauty, poignancy, growth.

I'm with you on this one Miss Sara. I've had my share of "different" New Year's Eve nights. 1967 NYE spent on guard duty in the cristal clear cold night that only happens in the Texas pan-handle during winter or sitting alone on a hill next to your radio station, watching the beautiful star filled warm NYE sky over Viet Nam.

But, this year's holiday season was one of the most special I've ever had becaue I went through it with you by my side. Unlike many of life's memories that often fade into mist with time, I know I will remember these past few weeks and days with bright vivid memory for all of my life.

I also revel in all the excitement, hope and energy that 2008 brings. New challenges and new opportunities. Projects for everyone who reads this to dive deeply into with great gusto!!! Educations to further, new lands to explore, new friends to make and new ART to create. Ever onward.

I love you Miss Sara and I love all who read this and may we all continue to be blessed. BRING ON 2008
